Leanne Violet
Leanne Violet (b. 1999) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Cheltenham, South West England. Originally from the South East, she studied BA Photography, graduating in 2021, and went on to complete a PGCE in 2022. Alongside her role as a secondary school art teacher, she maintains a growing practice that spans textiles, painting and lens-based media.

Her work explores how movement -through time, memory and domestic ritual - shapes our sense of identity, care and belonging. Using reclaimed fabrics, hand embroidery and textile collage, Violet reflects on the rhythms of women’s labour and the emotional endurance carried through everyday materials. These slow, deliberate processes offer resistance to the fast pace of contemporary life, placing value on time, touch and repetition.

Violet's work is grounded in themes of connection, memory, and labour, often drawing on domestic materials and processes to explore overlooked rituals of care.
Working primarily with found fabrics, hand embroidery, and textile collage, she uses slow, deliberate techniques to reflect on emotional endurance and the hidden histories embedded in everyday materials.
