Seeking Storytellers
Mauve is an independent project created and run by Leanne Violet. It exists to celebrate creativity in all its forms and to bring artists and writers together in a shared space of imagination. Each edition grows from a love of art and literature, from the belief that creative work remains essential, alive and capable of opening new ways of seeing.

Open Call Brief

This edition turns its attention to art and technology, exploring how creative practice sits within an increasingly digital world. It asks what art becomes when shaped by new tools, new systems and new ways of making. It considers how artists and writers respond to this landscape, how they hold on to the human voice within it and how they imagine futures that are not defined by automation alone. This theme invites reflection, resistance and curiosity, welcoming work that engages with the shifting relationship between the hand made and the machine.

The experience was really good. I loved the way my work was edited and presented in the magazine.
I found the whole thing fascinating. The experience of contributing alongside other artists and writers, where the contributions and mediums were hugely diverse, was a rewarding collaboration to be part of. The icing on the cake was being able to purchase a really great quality book of the work
It was very clear from beginning to end what was needed from me. It moved quickly and the end result is lovely. I can’t wait to get my copy.
It was absolutely effortless which means you were working exceptionally hard behind the scenes to make it so. Thank you.
